Chimney Sweep Pricing

Pricing is dependent on your location; time of year; and whether ABOC have swept your chimney before.

Local area:

• Newcastle City, East and North: NE1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 12
• North Tyneside, all post codes:  NE25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30

• Summer discount (April to August), less £10 = £59  ( £69 if first service)

Adjacent to (our local area):
Getting across the city or Tyne can easily add 30 minutes or more to our return journey. We consequently add an additional £10 for time and transport.  This will be waived if you order fuel to be delivered at the same time as the sweep (minimum £50).

Outside of (the Adjacent area):
We do not offer a chimney sweeping service outside of the postcodes listed above.  However, we do quote for multiple sweeps or acceptance of additional travel cost.  Please enquire if you want a quote.

Additional Time:
A standard sweep takes approximately one hour, the prices being quoted above.  It is not common for chimney sweeps to take longer than that. 

Additional time may be incurred if:

• there is a nest or blockage in the chimney or flue liner
• a seized component or problem in your stove, or
• your stove has never been swept for many years and there is an excessive build up of soot.  

Should we encounter any problems, the sweep should be able to identify and inform you within 10 minutes of starting.  Charge

• There is no additional charge for the first 10 minutes
• After 70 minutes, £1 per minute worked, eg £20 for an extra half hour (90 minutes)
• After 2 hours without any sign of progress, it is likely there is a major problem that we may have to call back or seek outside help.

Additional time will not be charged if there the problem is with our equipment or procedures.

• Online payment is not currently possible as our 8% discount over £130 spend does not apply to chimney sweeps.  Once we resolve this problem it will be enabled.

Cancellation or not being able to complete the sweep:
If the sweep is cancelled at any time before we get to your doorstep there is no charge.  If for any reason we arrive and are unable to complete the sweep, there will be a £20 cancellation charge.  Your slot has been allocated and cannot be filled at short notice. Typical reasons are:

• no one is home, we all forget things now and again
• you are home but we cannot start for whatever reason
• your stove has been put on that morning or has been banked up and slow burnt from the night before
• your installation is unsafe and a warning notice is issued.
