Smokeless fuels are a type of solid fuel which either does not emit visible smoke or emits minimal amounts during combustion.  Smokeless fuels serve as a replacement for fuels such as coal, which produce smoke upon combustion and are now banned in England.  Supplied in the form of standard pillow-shaped briquettes or ovoids.  Examples of smokeless fuels are anthracite, coke and charcoal; they also contain a binder to form the ovoid shape.  (read more on wikipedia).
